Eagle Softball

Jordan Invitational Tournament

The Lady Eagle softball team went 1 and 4 in the Jordan Invitational softball tournament this past weekend. The Eagles took an early 3-0 lead against Hardaway, but came up short in the end, losing 9-5. Offensively, Kinsley Prevatt led the way with two hits, including a double and a triple. Harlie Reddoch, Jenna Sizemore and Carly Davis also had hits. In game two, Christina Davis got the win, going six innings as the Eagles won 4-2. Jenna Sizemore and Christina Davis had two hits each while Taylor Hendrix, Hanna Wodzinski, Miranda McCarter, and KC Ledford each had one hit. The first game Saturday was Marion vs. Troup (ranked in the top 10 in state by the AJC) and Troup won 12-0. The only Eagle hit of the game came off the bat of Harlie Reddoch. Up next was Taylor County. Marion jumped out to a 1-0 first inning lead, but in the end, Taylor won 6-2. Jenna again led the team with hits with 2, including a double. Taylor and Hanna added one hit each. The Eagles finished the day losing 4-2 to Bleckley. It was a hard-fought game, but even though Marion turned 3 double plays, they still came up short. Five Lady Eagles had one hit each: Harlie, Christina, Kinsley, Hanna and Taylor.

The Varsity softball team is on the road for three games this week. They will be at Taylor on Wednesday, Manchester on Thursday, and Americus on Friday.

Our Middle School team will have their season opener this Saturday at home against Taylor County, beginning at 10:00 A.M.
