Notice: Vaccine Opportunity for Children Ages 12-18

Recently, the Pfizer vaccine has been approved for children as young as 12.  Currently, that approved vaccine is not available in Marion County; parents who wish to vaccinate their children against COVID have had to travel outside the county to obtain the shot.

Phoebe Primary Care of Buena Vista will make a mobile vaccine unit available on the following dates:
June 9th (9 a.m.-1 p.m.) for first dose
June 30th (9 a.m.-1 p.m.) for second dose

This opportunity will allow children/students from ages 12-18 who wish to be vaccinated the opportunity to do so.  Parents must be present, and adults are also welcome to take advantage of this opportunity to receive the Pfizer vaccine series.  After the second dose, there is a 5-week waiting period before immunity is assumed.

If you are interested in having your child/teen receive the Pfizer vaccines on the 9th and 30th, please contact Tiffany Wodzinski at 229-649-7520 with questions and to help with planning the number of dosages needed on those days.

The Marion County School System does not require COVID vaccinations but would like to provide this information for people who choose to be vaccinated.
