BVPD

As one of the most unusual school years came to a close, Chief Faulk and the Buena Vista Police Department wanted to make sure local students had a warm send off into summer with safety tips and treats. Chief Faulk and Officers Williams, Dukes and Lewis visited Tri-County Head Start and L. K. Moss Elementary School. At Head Start, officers participated in the End-of-Year Celebration Parade. At L. K. Moss Elementary, officers met with school administration and discussed continued outreach before touring L. K. Moss Elementary School and visiting first and fourth grade students. At both school, officers and students discussed being safe over the summer, and students were able to ask questions of the officers.  All students received a goodie bag filled with activity books, stickers, pencils and the like. Along with tokens from BVPD, officers also handed out character education books purchased by merchants of Marion County (Georgia Farm Bureau, Murray Landscaping Services, J&L Pizzeria, K&L Forest Nursery, Inc., and Maxwell Grading). At the end of the day Chief Faulk stated, “It is a pleasure to be able to get out with our youngest citizens to let them know law enforcement is here to protect and serve. Today was BVPD’s way of giving back to our community and our future leaders. We encourage all students to stay safe this summer and remind them that BVPD is here to help if ever needed.”
