Coach Jernigan’s World History classes participated in a Culture Day project over the Ancient Civilizations of Mesopotamia, Egypt, India, and China. The students had many options to choose from for their projects including cooking dishes from each civilization, writing essays, creating games with history terms, creating maps, and designing graphic organizers over their religions. All of the students did a great job of creating and presenting their projects. It is important that students have an opportunity to try foods from other cultures and to create history with their hands. All the students enjoyed getting to sample foods and listen to their peers’ presentations.
