2022

This is the link to the Class of 2022 meeting Power Point.  Unfortunately, I was not able to post the recording.  Here are some of the main points that were covered:

1. Current juniors should access their YouScience results through the Power School Parent Portal.  This can be done by clicking "Georgia LDS," then "my career plan," then "go to YouScience."  The career results are based on both interests and aptitudes.

2. This summer, you should visit colleges that interest you, either in person or online/virtually.  When you return to school in the fall, have an idea of where you might want to apply.  Make sure the schools you choose have a major that matches your career interest.

3. Many schools will still waive SAT/ACT requirements for next year.  If you still want to test, you can register through www.collegeboard.org/sat or www.actstudent.org.

4. Students who do not plan to attend a 4-year university may be interested in other options.  Two-year (community) colleges can help you save money or improve your GPA before you attend a university.  Technical college is a fast-track to a specialized career.  Some students prefer to enlist in a military career; from there you can attend college debt-free.

5. I also posted some tips for navigating college websites.  We will have Grad Night in the fall, and that is when Seniors will order caps and gowns.  Senior dues and other information will be sent to you in a letter this summer.
