BHM

Have you ever played with a Super Soaker?  Enjoyed a bag of potato chips with your lunch?  Ridden in an elevator with automatic doors? Dried a load of clothes?  Used a hairbrush, a fountain pen, or a cell phone?  If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, you have a Black inventor to thank.

Successes of the Black community are not limited to invention but span into all areas of life: exploration (both Earth and space), education, medicine, agriculture, sports, the arts, and so many more.

For example, here is a list of Black innovators who have left their mark on the mental health field:

It is important to recognize and give credit to Black creators and pioneers and to the impact of Black history and heritage in all aspects.

Let us show kindness and respect and continue to lift each other.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Jernigan and Mrs. Price, MCMHS Counselors
